I was lucky enough to spend the last two mornings fishing lake mohave while my parents relax at the casino. They dropped me off near a cove close to the dam and I hiked around the rugged shoreline and threw topwater/plastics. Was expecting to catch some LMB/Smallies like I did here in August. Yesterday I arrived around 7am, saw a few fish busting here and there. Tied up a DuoRealis Pencil popper and on the 2nd cast got smacked by a nice striper!! Put up a good solid fight fight..quick picture then on the very next cast BAM!! Nother striper, a bit bigger. Probably my pb but i didnt have a scale. Im hoping someone on here can give me an estimate! Few cast later I hooked into a smallie way out there and he spit the hook. Weathered the "storm" until 12 and called it a day. This morning I got there a bit earlier. Worked the plug for 30mkn til my first and only fish. About the same size as the first. All in all, my solo treks through that cove on lake mohave have been rewarding and fun especially for me since I dont fish stripers much. Ill include pics of the fish in the order they were caught. All cpr'ed. Ill probably be out tommorow morning to go for one more before we head back to Long Beach.
