Had the privilege of fishing with k3vin_kim, FunJunkie 74, Ymin72, LA Smoker, Terry, and another Mike for the first time on the 3/4 day out of Captain Hooks. I tend to fish with Jimmy (4g63power) all the time so his posts share the same stories I have to tell. However, this being my first semi-real fishing report post I will introduce myself as Matt. Met up with the fellows at 5ish in the morning and headed to Anacapa Island with 46 on board. We started fishing by 8 or so and went through quite a bit of drifts to get close to limits of rockfish and a few extracurricular species (whitefish, sheephead, sculpin). Nothing exceptionally big to speak of but the jackpot went to a nice johnny bass. Hot ticket for the day was the gulp minnow grub in various colors and an attached strip of squid. Weather was awesome as the sea was calm, couldn't have asked for better conditions. Short report as I am tired and sure the guys have more to add (this thread is worthless without pictures wink wink). It was great meeting you guys and look forward to many more laughs and trips!
