    Default Crappie Fishing in SoCal

Whats the best lake to fish for crappies in SoCal and when?

Umm, I would say Lake Henshaw during spring, like March-May, that's when they go to shallow water to spawn, I went there during May and caught a couple 1-2 lbs, but mostly they are around the size of a human palm, but thinner

I fish for Bluegill and Redear at Lake Perris and catch crappie by accident. Spring time we catch some nice ones.

The other lake that is close to most of us is Lake Elsinore. It goes off March-May, the beauty of Lake Elsinore it's all shore fishing. The Crappies come in the mornings and evenings in the Marina to eat the Shad. I personaly like late afternoon till dark, it can be wide open, but more then likely it will be a pick bite. The more experience anglers do much better then the novices. It's a lot of fun and I can't wait for this coming Spring!!!!!
