A fellow FNN member and I went back to my favorite Inland Empire bass lake a couple of days ago. The bite was a little tough; most of the coves seemed devoid of fish. However, we came across one spot loaded with little 1lb largemouth. They were picky, only hitting certain plastics. Also managed a few on the Gapen Fish Fry micro jerkbait.
Later, as we continued to explore the shore, I had a big missed strike. On my second return cast, a nice 18" channel catfish latched on. On 4lb test, it was a thrilling fight.

Weather was perfect-a little foggy in the morning, clearing up to a beautiful day. Water was very stained, poor visibility overall. This was my second trip in which I hooked a chunky catfish on a lure, they are on the prowl as the water is cooling down!
