    Wait, why is it closed? Isn't it owned by the LADWP with state DF&W rules, regs, and enforcement? How do the feds have anything to do with this at all?

    I heard Obama's the new recruit of the Pyramid Prize Patrol ..

    Closed due to the federal budget impasse. More Boehner's fault than Obama's.

    All facilities on federal grounds must be closed. Water is owned by CA State DWR, land is owned by U.S.F.S.(Angeles National Forest), Facility is controlled by DWR, operated under contract by Parks Management Company(private)

    But wait isn't Silverwood lake also the National Forest (San Bernardino)? Wouldn't the same apply (Silverwood is open)? Or since it's a State park that trumps it?

    Yes..mybad. State Parks facilities remain open.. I believe the only two lakes affected in SoCal are Pyramid and Piru.

    With all due respect, just because the lake sits on USFS land why does it mean it must be closed? The marina and launch ramp are operated by a private business on land leased by the operator and is self sustaining. No federal dollars are spent on day to day operations. And state DF&W enforce the regulations, again, no federal involvement or costs. This action is purely punitive and designed to cause public anger in order for the Obozo administration to point fingers in an attempt at political gain.

    Boehners fault? For once the guy has grown a pair and is doing what the people want, stop the advancement of progressive socialist policy. The House was given a mandate in 2010 when the people voted in a republican majority. Dang those checks and balances eh? I posted this on another thread and it fits right in here as well;

    "That insistence on conditions — chiefly over a halt to Obamacare — helped land the government in the current shutdown, which is nearly a week old and shows no sign of letting up. Neither side is even acknowledging talking with the other.

    Instead, the House has kept up a frenetic pace, including a Saturday session, voting on bill after bill to reopen parts of the government, including the national parks to the National Institutes of Health.

    The Senate, meanwhile, has all but shut down itself. Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, hasn’t held a floor vote in nearly a week. The House has voted 26 times since the last Senate vote."

    So I respectfully disagree with you. This is all on the Obama administration. It's disgusting and is going to backfire big time...
