    Default June Loop Sep 20-24...

Made my final Sierra trip of the season to the loop with my son. Got some good hiking in as well as fishing. Spent time at Gull, Grant and June. Lots of fish with some quality mixed in. Stuck a beautiful brown at Grant on Monday along with numerous bows to 2.5#. Gull was pretty much WFO with a lot of DFG stockers to weed through. Managed back to back 3.5 & 5.2# Alpers on Tue afternoon at Gull. Mini-jig bite at Gull and Grant was excellent and the trip overall was outstanding.

Ci4's, Phenix sticks and always 2# Izor XXX unless I'm throwing cranks. Stick with natural colors (grasshopper/nightcrawler/cricket) at Grant this time of year and you should do well. I was very surprised he didn't saw me off on a couple of those runs...Thanks for the vid compliment.

Nice work 114 on the fight. 2lb test takes patience. Love Grant in the Fall.

I fished Gull at some point almost every day we were there and was getting the same until Tue. afternoon in the wind. I was told June had been getting weekly stockings of Alpers for some time, but I only managed rats in the one afternoon I was able to fish it. We had good timing on our trip because heavy wind and a storm was projected over the next few days after we left.
