    Default Skinner 9/ 21-22

Saturday was a surprise. Lately there has been an ongoing boil outside the marina at opening. I thought with the cloud cover it would be nuts. Nope. Everybody dispersed around the lake. I landed 5 stripers from 3lbs to 7lbs on the troll. I tell you these guys are on steroids, fighting like hell! The guys I talked to who were fishing the inlet had luck but on the smaller 1-3 pounders.

Went back today to the same setup but things got even slower. Landed a couple 1 pounders at the inlet then trolled for a couple 3 pounders. That was it. Left at 11:00. Water temp has dropped by a few degrees and level is so-so. Chased one big boil at the buoy line but they were all dinks.

Was that you trolling up and down in front of the Marina on Saturday. I think there were 2 or 3 of you in an aluminum crestliner??

No not me. I seldom troll in front of the marina. I'm solo in a grey Bass Tracker.

Well Jim, I will have to say hi, next time I am out. I was in the Smokercraft. Get some tips from you on Trolling. I have always wanted to try it.

P.A.W. I will keep an eye out for you as well.

I'm glad you got some nicer size Stripers P.A.W. Over cast seems to do that sometimes.

Yah Corey, Mr stripey has a mind of his own. It was worth it though. Threw my biggest fillet in some Asian style marinade for a few minutes then on the grill. Yum! This coming weekend should be good for all the local lakes. Moon going away and mild temps.

Anytime kojak. We only wound up with 3. But the first hook up was on my sons rod but a really nice fish 4.5 to 5 lbs biggest he has ever caught. He was super excited. That made the whole trip. As soon as the sun broke the bite shut off. But still a fun day on the water.

There was a commotion over by launch ramp #2. A tatooed girl was fighting with her boyfriend and all hell broke loose when her step dad showed. Carrying a gun! I got the hell out of there.
