    Default Laughlin area fishing??

Hey whatsup guys, im planning on taking a trip over to laughlin next monday with the kids and would love to do some fishing. Ive been going here with my family for years and have only tried fishing once about 5 years ago when i was alot more inexperienced. We fished the big bend area i believe and caught the skunk. Lol. I primarily fish the heavy pressure waters of southern california for largemouth but would like to try my hand at catching smallmouth or striper. But all in all id be satisfied with catching anything that swims, even carp as a last resort! I do remember seeing a gentleman puttin a hurt on the trout right by the colorado belle..man did he look like he was having a blast!! Anyways, i still dont know too much about fishing in large rivers, so i am asking for help. Any tips on where and how, for my family and i to catch some fish will be greatly appreciated. Ive already heard of some areas such as the bridge/near the riverside, the davis dam area, and laughlin bay. Ill be fishing from the bank and would like to try to stay within a 20 min drive proximity of the hotel. Thanks to anyone who replies!!

I used to do real good on the lake above the casinos. I would drive across the bridge and park at the south end of bridge on the left, and walk down the rocks (rip-rap) and use anchovies for the stripper and cats. Bite was good at first light and at dusk in the evening. Did ok in the river with the chovies but lost allot of hooks and sinkers as you will on the lake as well. Spent most of my fishing time in the backwaters around 5-mile landing and the north and south dikes but they are approx. 30 miles from the casinos.

If you type "laughlin fishing harrah's" into the search box up above and wait 30 seconds or so you'll get a few old threads that give some decent info on fishing the river near the casinos.
