Fishing started off great Sat morning and slowed in the afternoon. There were about 100 speed boats traveling north and south all day for races by Aha Quinn. Some pretty great boats, but the noise and wakes probably didn't help. The water was also extremely high for a Sat in August.
Sun morning was beautiful! No wind, low water, and a ton of visibility. We were basically sight fishing and casting right at them. We had 1 pounders literally following the boat for 100's of yards grabbing tails, swiping, threatening, but most not committing to anything. When you got a follower though it was like a touchdown. Most fish came right off of lay downs or rocks.
The usual suspects for me again:
See my last thread of you want to know the exacts.
My son REALLY wanted to eat a fish and we only catch and release smallies and LMB, but Greg gut hooked one so he got his wish:
At one point he said "daddy I ate his tongue and eye connectors"!
The fish:
Double!!
Another report coming after Labor Day weekend!
