Fished Cat today with Micky from 316 Lures.
Nice conditions on the way out 34+ mph all the way from HH to the East End.
Water around the island (backside) ranged from 64-67. We started at the East End around 7am and worked our way all the way up to the West End.
Fairly good pick on 1-4lb grade fish, nothing huge and never WFO. No set pattern, some in tight, some out of the deeper kelp and a few off boilers. Wind was against the current and there was a decent swell booming into the shore break.
Got them on iron and the hard baits Micky makes.
Here is a double Micky scored while ripping a bait across the kelp. The smaller fish grabbed the bait first and the larger one came up for a piece. Guess he was surprised!!
Nice trip home 30 mph all the way until about 5 miles off PV then it turned to the normal afternoon PV cr@p.
