Team 57: CATFISH CO-OP 4 - Official Sign-up Thread!
Holy mackerel it's the CATFISH CO-OP 4! Let's get together for a fishing tournament, summer BBQ, and camping under the shooting stars!
Invite your friends and family, this "official" Team 57 event is open to everyone! Come join us, Saturday August 10th, 2013 from 6am to 2am @ Irvine Lake! This is a great way to meet some new people and hang out with other anglers, so come out and enjoy an evening on the water with us!
There is no buy-in for the "CATFISH CO-OP 4" and anyone can weigh-in a fish. Each contestant will be allowed to weigh-in their single largest blue or channel catfish. Last weigh-in time will be 1am. Shortly after we'll be giving away awards for "Big Fish Champion" & "Big Fish Runner-up" as well as the "Skunk Award".
This event coincides with Irvine Lake's 3rd King of the Cat's qualifier, a "Mid Summer Nights Dream". We encourage everyone to enter this fun and exciting event. Please do not confuse these two events. If you enter the KOTC's qualifier make sure you weigh-in your fish on Irvine Lake's official scale by 1am. Your weight will be honored for the CATFISH CO-OP 4. If you don't enter the KOTC's qualifier we will have a scale at the campsite to weigh-in your fish.
Around 2pm we plan on getting together for a summer BBQ potluck before everyone hits the water for the evening. Bring your best BBQ dish to share. Tri-tip, pulled pork, ribs, BBQ chicken, or dare I say it.... a BACONATOR! If you don't plan on bringing a BBQ dish please bring a side dish to share. Check the sign-up list and bring what you see fit. We don't need 10 people bringing watermelon. If you don't see an item on the list feel free to sign-up for that item.
After the potluck we'll be holding a HUGE raffle thanks to all the amazing event sponsors. Raffle tickets are free and each person will get one. We'll have lots of stuff to give away so make sure you get your raffle ticket!
A few of us will be camping Friday and Saturday nights. At last years Catfish Co-op III we were treated to a spectacular light show courtesy of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. We all watched in amazement as 100's of shooting stars streaked through the sky each night. There was even a UFO! and no I don't mean little green men flying around in a spaceship (unless it was Trollmiester). This annual meteor shower will again be peaking the weekend of the event. Come camp Friday and/or Saturday night and watch some shooting stars with us around the campfire!
Please set a good example out there and show fellow anglers/lake staff what a classy group of people we have on this awesome website. If you plan on drinking please do so responsibly.
