Default Back at the wood! Success again!🐟 Double post

So this week hit up the wood a couple times . Hit it up on Wednesday hoping the fish would be on the chew since there was no boat traffic all day. Was worried about the bluestoneing killing the bite but went anyway. And glad I did. So got there around 6pm and went over tword the ramp when I noticed trout all over! Couldn't believe it I didn't know they had stocked so I start throwing a small kastmaster and hook up on a couple trout.( very small trout btw, probably some of the smallest I've seen stocked in silverwood striper candy for sure) so about 5 min in I see about 3 10-20 pound striper come in and jus crush the trout! I'm standing there amazed and soo mad! This is the first time in months I haven't brought my swimbait rod and have nothing to throw at them I looked in my box and the best thing I had was a lucky craft jerkbait. So dicided to throw that but got no love. So went back to fishing for the trout had my girlfriend with me so got her hooked up on a few. Ended up catching and releasing about 25 . At about 8:30 I move over toward the swim beach . There wer weeds everywhere but found a lane where I could work my top water bait. Fished there for about 20 min catchin striper back to back it was on fire but had to leave cuz the gates close at 9 and was not trying to get stuck in the park.

All wer about this size in the 1 1/4 to 2 pound range but fun on the topwater!

So Friday I decide to take my little sis and little bro out since there home for summer and my girlfriend takes her little brother . Dicided to bait and wait to garentee them some schooly size striper fun all day. Left the house at about 10 got up there and had lines in the water by about 10:45 I hook up immediately before I even get all the Rods out. It was a pretty steady bite all day. Every time the wind would die for a min the bite would go off then stop again once the wind returned. Little bro seen all the heavy weed mats and dicided to throw a frog across them and landed a nice 1lb largemouth . I Dicided to throw one rod deep in a cove hoping for maybe some catfish and the plan worked about 30 min after I casted my rod gets completely bent over and I manage a 6 lb 3oz catfish. As the sun started to go down I begun throwing my swimbait . And glad I did ! Get absolutely hammered on it and fight a nice 7lb 12oz striper to the shore . My second stripe on the swimbait in three weeks ! But still can't get over that double D mark! All in all had a nice week at the wood!

Nice mid day bass on topwater!

Girlfriends little bro with a nice little stripe!

Little sisters pink rod kept getting slammed ! She had the lucky stick for sure.

Another nice swimbait fish! 7lb 12oz

If you're referring to the dirt road near the damn, it's not that bad. I've seen plenty of smaller cars back there, just take it slow. I do it in my Tacoma and have no issues.

By the way kid, nice catch. You'll get your double D soon with the hard work you've been putting in.
