    Default Spot & Bean Help!!!

Hi there all so I was hoping I can get a lil help with some tips to help me accomplish my goal of catching a spot and a bean. I can see them in the surf but just no luck idk if its because of my set up. I use a C rig with a size 8 or 6 mosquito hook and 1/4oz egg sinker and Soft shell SC as bait. Any tips or advise would be awesome thanks everyone

Never caught either of those species yet, but I say lose the sinker and fly line the crab. Don't know what pound test you are using, but from what i have seen, most guys go light.

Depending on the size of the surf I usually toss a 1/2 egg to a swivel and a 18" leader with 4 lb fluoro to a 4 - 6 Owner Mosquito hook. Do you fish OC or SD ?
Good luck finding a Spotfin in Santa Monica Bay.

Help land 2 19" Spotfin in HB on Saturday. Both were caught w/ Sandcrabs on a Carolina rig.
    Good luck,

Never seen or heard of any Spotfin in Hermosa so you must be talking about Huntington ?
Don't know why the Spotfin don't show in SMB ?

That's because they need a good harbor or estuary to hang out in and Marina Del Rey/Redondo don't really fulfill that role.

Yes, it was in Huntington Beach. Sorry, forgot there is more than 1 HB.

Beans spook very easily just like trout fishing in the creeks , lite line the smallest weight you can get away with and a good reel is a must .
Hope this helps .... good luck ..
And please practice C&R on them beans very fragile and they take a long time to grow !!!!
