    Default recent silverwood lake trips

hi everyone im new to these boards! my name is Alex and i usually fish silverwood lake for stiped bass and lmb. i also fish other local lakes but usually only during trout season. I have been going to silverwood almost every week since the beginning of spring, had a lot of luck on the spawning lmb using a sinko, and on the striper using anchovies or silver spoon lures. I recently got into swimbait fishing, my low down custom rod should be ready in one to two weeks, ill be putting a calcutta 400d reel on it and throwing an 8" wood lunker punker and a bbz1 8" for now. any other silverwood fishers in here? here are a couple of pictures of fish i have recently caught at silverwood.

Well, it looks like putting in your time is paying off for you. I have had poor luck there but I see many other have dialed in good methods there. I always like seeing good reports from up there because I want to believe that some day I just might have some kind of accident and actually catch some fish. I think in 7 trips (kayak, power boat, shore) I've caught two trout from shore. I can't think of any other body of water that I've done so poorly in. So Silverwood is yet to overcome by this amature angler. I see you are just over the hill from me...maybe some time we should hit it same day. I always enjoy meeting new people around the lake. I have a tandem kayak and power boat. Sometimes I don't have anybody else to paddle with me...but I still take the tandem. I love to fish from the yak.

Tight lines out there. Good luck and welcome to the board.

yeah i believe the fishing is a lot better out there via boat but i never tried it. Silverwood can be tough fishing at times but when you get used to the lake you start gettin a little more success in landing fish lol. let me know next time you go out there bro!

Welcome to FNN, Silverwood is nice when you can catch a day when the wind is calm, just like you I've never fished a boat in the lake but have some success. I have caught trout, catfish and striper. Ben out about 10 times and only been skunked twice. It's the body of water around here I have got a striper out of. Keep it up looks like your on them
