A 17lb 6oz Snakehead that was caught in Virginia may be the largest ever caught by hook. This thing is a monster, and ugly as h**l...

Now that looks like something that might put a little fear into Mr. Stripy and any other fish that swims by.
I bet that lake doesn't have any problems with lake lice. I would hate to be the one who falls of a ski and gets nibbled on...lol
It's nice fish, but that is not even close to the biggest "snakehead" ever caught. Maybe the biggest Northern snakehead Channa argus (which I'm not familiar with), but not giant snakehead Channa micropeltes. My personal record is a 26+ lb giant snakehead (speared, so doesn't count), but there are many giant snakehead specimens much bigger than 19 lbs (25 lbs and up) caught in Thailand on lures, and you can watch it on Youtube eg:

Bass won't stand a chance against a snakehead. Maybe soon I'll have to head back to the US for some of the "epic snakehead fishing" LOL...
In my opinion, not a very sporting way to catch a fish.
