    Default S.W.A.T. Quick Report 5/17

    5/17/13

Thien(bloox8) had just finished up with school and finals so he was ready to go fishing again asap We decided on hitting a couple of local beaches to do some recon and see how things were shaping up. I had hit this beach a few weeks ago for an hour and it was an all you can eat salad buffet and totally unfishable... Arrived to nice calm conditions and overcast skies, but there was still too much salad in the water. We worked it anyways and managed one 15.5" yfc (just short of counting for any points). We decided to packup and head south, stoping by one other beach on our way to there. We arrived at the spot at low tide and managed a few more fish to end the day with. No points for the rookies today

Fish Count: (1) yfc; (1) calico; (1) sand bass; (3) smelt
I did have a couple of halibut come up and hit my lure right in front of me but they didn't stick

16" sandie (from the rocks = no points)

some cool looking sea hare eggs

Nice job on the sandy with the spinner bait! Not something I woulda thought of throwing there. Way to think outta the box for the score!

I fished a double willow spinner bait with a smimmie trailer many many times on the surf. Not even a bump. You should get double cool points for that...:) Keep at it bro!

Big Sandie there Daniel. Got to try a spinner bait one day. Think I'll be more confident in throwing one when I can go with someone that knows how to use one.

Daniel, nice sandie on the spinnerbait. I've always been wanting to throw the spinner in that spot. I think it's time to use my Bass Pro giftcard on a few spinners I've been eyeing out.

    Hi Daniel

I had a feeling that you where going to buy a spinnerbait when we met at Action Fishing Tackle about to weeks ago. Nice sand bass keep using it, your big calico is just around the corner. Great report.

    Ramiro.
