mid report...SF13 prefish and stickin 8lb bedfish
Hit the mid with AA and MO this am. I had to get re quaggaed from my Izzy trip. Got at inspection at 530 finally dude rolls in way after lake opened. I guess they had to call this guy in from Castaic. I heard the phone ring in the shack at least 20 times.
Anyway I get on the water after 7. Mo already had troll fish. I got one... weeds are BAD again..just have to deal with it.
Wanted to look for fresh fish and bigger fish. MO and AA did also.
We all struggled all morning then I found a pretty good bite and called the boys. Soon it was limits around. Well one short...
I venture out for more activity. I scan the banks looking at structure and weeds the stripers are relating to and beam.. a LMB that looks like 2.5 ft long and 12 inches across its back on a bed.
Dayum all I had was my striper tackle. Tied on a big hammer with 1/2 ounce head and within 5 mins had her serious.
A couple swing and misses then I stuck her. She made a run and came straight up, I could swear we locked eyes and I can still see my jig head in the corner of her mouth when she gave me the old head out of the water head shake and spit my jig back at me.
Dejected I gave her another 5 mins and she looked defensive. But I was wasting too much time already and wind chop was making it difficult for a second shot.
Believe me I would tell ya where she is but even I would feel bad if someone killed her. She worked me over, I got respect for that gal.
Anyway, Bako boys have troll fish, secret bait spot,cut baits corner, and pilfering bobs spot, the only successful Castaic report, San Antonio report.... soooooo it should be a cake walk this SF.
These fish won't win SF but I'm still dialing them in till June 8th.. AA actually woulda probably had 20+ lbs had we weighed his
