As I've said somewhere in the past, Northern Snakeheads really do not drastically impact a well established ecosystem. The Giant Snakeheads are the ones that the US doesn't need. Those guys do in fact bite and tear their prey apart.

In Japan Northern snakeheads are well established in some of the country's rivers and co-habituate with bass.
Do you have any data to support this?

I'm not going to go and find data for you and start a lovely debate if that is what you want. You'll just have to take my word for it. I've seen one too many Japanese TV programs where anglers often catch Northerns along with LMB.

Apparently officials in New York are incompetent based on your assessment.

Environmental officials are planning to survey a Central Park lake this week to search for an invasive type of toothy predator fish that threatens to disrupt the ecosystem.

RIVER MONSTERS lol! Ive since realized that this show is 90 percent self serving propaganda dug up from super old newspapers. I still love the show though. Snakehead has been featured on alot of cookin shows as of late, I think they call it "Texas Tuna" in the south..... Ive had it at one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Artesia and loved it deepfried.
