There will always be catch and keep anglers, and there will always be catch and release anglers. 10% of the anglers catch 90% of the fish. Catch and keep anglers are honestly not really part of that 10%. This fishery will survive, and if it is in danger of declining, the CDFW will make the changes. Do catch and release fisheries like vail flourish? Yea they really do no doubt. But Perris is for the public, and you have to respect the interests of all. I'm glad to see that there are so many that care about the fishery. If you really want to see a change, letter writing is probably your best bet. If you're curious why I kept it, I did an egg count, egg health analysis, and checked its prespawn diet. It was eaten, bass is okay if you remove the skin. Once in a while I keep a bass while crappie fishing.
