What's up fella's. Back once again with a Catalina wrap up. Met up with...
FunJunkie74 (Joe)
Ymin72 (Mike)
ChristianMetalHead (Brad)(Slater)
BlackSpartan69 (Ron)
LA Smoker (Bob)
and my buddy Terry at Davey's for an extended 3/4 trip to the island. The morning was off to a great start... until Ron asks me if I was hungry as we were standing in line for the boat and he hands me a banana. HAHA very funny... I was rather appalled by the gesture and threw it into the docking harbor... btw, bananas float.
Anyway, this would be a limited load trip but it was still packed with 56 anglers. The weather was supurb in the beginning till about 1pm and then the wind started blowing pretty good. Especially when we went to the backside of the island then the wind AND the waves hit us hard.
The target was YT and Boneheads but we hardly didn't run into ANY fish at all today. Mike hooked up and landed a 4 pound Boney on his first cast. Then he hooked up again a minute later but the dogs took it. The Damn dogs were everywhere today. It's really hard to tell if your sardine is still there b'cuz the seals bite is so clean and sharp.
After that it was just scrappy... scrappy fishing. Actually it really sucked. But it was fun kickin' it with the FNN crew. In all 2 and a half bones were landed. 0 YT's.
Throughout the day tangles were everywhere and 85% of the boat didn't catch a single fish. I brought 4 set ups and the only fish I caught were on my Scooby setup. Short Calico, Spanish Mac, Perch and sand dabs. We later found out there were bananas ALL OVER THE BOAT. Captian Norris gave the whole boat 1/2 off of our next 3/4 trip.
On the way back in, we were all just goofing around and laughing as usual. Then Ron bets Brad to bite the head off of a Mac that was in the bait tank...
It was UNREAL.
