Team 57: April Farm Fest & Rib Cook-off (4/27/13)
Mark your calenders the "3rd Annual April Farm Fest & Rib Cook-off!" is set for April 27th 2013 at the beautiful Irvine Lake! It's time to farm some fish, fire up the grills & smokers, and get down with Team 57!
This is an official Team 57 event. This event is 100% free and open to everyone! It is a great way to meet some new people and hang out with other anglers, so come out and enjoy a day on the water with Team 57 for some "family, friends, fun, & fishing!"
Team 57 would like to dedicate this years April Farm Fest to Mark "BLUE WAGON" Kraft
This years "April Farm Fest" Big Fish & Farmer of the Day awards will be open to ANY species of fish. There is no buy-in and anyone can weigh-in a fish. Each contestant will be allowed to weigh-in their single largest fish of any species or five fish limit of crappie. Please follow all the lake rules concerning catch-and-release and limits of each species.
Besides the Big Fish & Farmer of the Day awards we will also be having an 50%/50% optional side-pot with half of the funds being raised to be donated to BLUE WAGONS family.
This event will take place at the picnic area immediately adjacent to the tackle shop. Initial weigh-ins for big fish will start at 3:00pm and final weigh-in will be at 3:30pm SHARP so you will have all day to fish and get your money's worth. At 4:00pm we will start the judging for the rib cook-off. Around 4:30pm we will have an award presentation as well as some goodies to raffle off so be sure to stick around!
The Rib Cook-off is also free and open to anyone! The Rib Cook-off will be a blind taste test. Each contestants entry will be assigned a random number. Voting will be open to everyone. Contestants will be allowed to vote but are NOT ALLOWED to vote for their own entry. Each person will be given a ballot where they will write down the number that corresponds with the entry that they are voting for. Since this will be a blind taste test, if you plan on bringing ribs for the cook-off please simply add "RIBS!" to your name on the sign-up list below. This competition is open to any type of ribs, pork or beef.
If you don't plan on bringing ribs for the cook-off please bring something else to share (salad, cookies, soda, water, etc...). Check the sign-up list and bring what you see fit. If you don't see an item on the list feel free to sign up for that item.

Please set a good example out there and show fellow anglers/lake staff what a classy group of people we have on this awesome website. If you plan on drinking please do so responsibly.
and last, but not least... a bunch of us will be BBQ/camping the night before the event. Come join us by the campfire for some "pre-Farm Festivities"!
