Default Winter Browns & Smallies at Almanor 2/21 & 2/23

Was up in Susanville for a week packaging swimbaits and trout jigs for the Fred Hall Show and had to break up the monotony with a little fishing. We hit Almanor two afternoons attempting to stick a few smallies but in the process ended up on a solid Brown Trout bite....go figure. Managed two personal best Browns, both incidental catches fishing for smallies, in two days on the water...pretty stoked on that. My biggest two browns went about 4.5lbs and 6.5lbs. The fish were right on the bottom hanging in 25 to 40ft of water off main lake points. All my fish came on a 3/8oz gold or silver Kastmaster jigged off the bottom and my buddy caught his on our smallie tubes rigged texas with a 1/8oz bullet weight dragged across the bottom.

And here is the fish porn...
