2-16 Skunk Report and Introduction
Hey guys and gals.
Thanks for the great site!
I fished pyramid for the third time, all in the last month, and am still working on finding some stripers, or black bass for that matter...
Spent a lot of time trolling and watching the lake through my sonar, which I forgot last time... Also tried the B&W.
Spent some time in shallow throwing lures for black bass as well.
I grew up fishin the delta for them and lets just say it's a whole different animal.
I bought an anual pass to pyramid and am determined to get some.
If you care, a little about myself.
I have a little old sears aluminum that I recently painted. I need to get my outboard repaired, so have been using my tm. I like to bring my dog Bolo.
I moved down here in 03 for school and got into the saltwater kayak scene catching halibut, bass, sharks, and whatever else.
Moved to Rochester NY, for grad school and had a lot of fun getting back into the freshwater thing. Here are some of my fish:
Lotta fun out there. Especially on the ice!
Sorry for all the pics. I thought you might enjoy some other fish...
Thanks Dan for referring me to this killer site!

Welcome Phil, with a little reading and plenty of advice offered here you will be slaying at pyramid in no time.

Glad to meet you on Saturday and sorry you got the skunk.... but, at least you are networking! :)
In the meantime, like I suggested, look up Bob (TroutOnly) and he will amaze you! Lulu and I went with him in November to the Wood and threw back 10 on the way to keeping our full limits (10x3) early.
My old Sears boat had some good memories, but was pretty cramped and slow, especially compared to the Crestliner we are sporting now!
These fish can be caught if you work at it and learn the ways, but lots of folks don't catch as they really would rather swim in the lake than go in the freezer.

wow looks like youve got some nice fish in your time. Pyramid can be tricky but you'll get it. how were you fishing pyramid, like what bait or lures, what depths ect. I've fished pyramid all my life, I might be able to help you sometime.

Thanks artist.
I was fishing from the marina to the point in water from 10-100 ft. Tried all areas of water colomn.
I was trolling (no dr) a 4'' shad swimbait, a norman deep diving crainkbait, a deep diving rapala minnow plug.
Casting swimbaits, hair raisers, flukes, grubs, iron, trout swimbait. Was fishing pretty slow at times due to the water.
Drifting chovies about mid water coloumn, down to the bottom.
When I get my outboard fixed I can fish the whole lake. For now, I fish the north-east area.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm sorry that I missed meeting you at the ramp on Saturday. I fish from my Hobie Outback several times a year.
