Default Breathing new life into old plastics

I remembered a post by fishbones a long time ago, in which he used a microwave to apply glitter to soft plastics..

So I decided to use a lighter and try it out myself:

Skippyfish.. now has an "American Shad" type pattern

Kalin's Smoke gold n pepper, Now has a "Golden shiner" look

Old fluke, now revitalized with a pearlescent sheen

Plain white and silver, great for overcast

    "Candied" crawbug

Kalin's Pumpkin salt n pepper, "candied"

    White with gold hologram flake..

    Kalin's Watermelonseed "Candied"..

These should really work well with halibut..

As a bonus, when a fish bites them, it will dislodge a cloud of "scales", giving you a second chance for a strike.

Great job recycling! I am guilty of just tossing old grubs. Now I know what to do next time, IF I ever decide to use grubs again!

Didn't you mention several times that you don't think that halibut give a **** what color the lure is? Just messin Marcus. They look great!

Thanks. It actually works the best with swimbaits, easier to melt the flat, non-ribbed sides, gives a more uniform scale look. Actually did this with a blue smelt big hammer, should murder on a swimjig for big largemouth bass!
