Default 12/30/12 - Pacific Eagle full day - JP Lingcod!

Been a while, FNN'ers... Happy New Year!

Boarded the Eagle at 5 am, started wetting the line around 7ish, very slow start, my first haul was used for bait, bleh.... and it caught a decent sized ling.
Got a nice sized red and thought that was my PB for the trip cuz I've been snagging the bottom and getting heckled at by my buddy "she's trying to catch California"...
So, the next drop, my pole went full bendo and I just resigned myself to another snag. Pulled my rod and the thing came up, my heckler started yelling
"it's a fish! reel it in!" It really felt like I was pulling up a half ton piece of coral, then he showed color... all heck broke loose...

By jackpot time, no one wanted to even pull their fish out...

Just like my first Halibut, my first Lingcod is H-U-G-E.

And just like the other trips, I was the only female angler, baby!

    Gator out.
