Default My fishing day at Jewel Lake (D.V.L.)

Today, I have gone to fish at the Jewel Lake (Diamond Valley Lake) and arrived at the gate at 5:30 a.m. I am in a last car line, guess what the D.V.L. changed a new open gate at 5:45 a.m. That is good news!

    The weather was perfect!

    Weather:
    Fog/Cloudy
    70 to 80 degrees
    Barometric Pressure: 29.87 Steady
Windy: Calm 5 mph to 10 mph

I got in my rental boat and was heading to West Dam for my trolling for about one hour, and then I was heading to East Dam. I was trolling while I was conversation with Eddie Fish Taco on the text message phone, fish on! I stopped the motor and reeling up. I landed my fish close to the boat and grab my net to the fish up, but my net is broken, watafa. The sharp metal of net can be snapped my test line, but I throw my net into boat and grab on a striper mouth with my phuking hand, booyah. Whoo hoo! I looked at my cell phone “What is time I caught striper,” it was 8:30 a.m. I figure it out and know of the most stripers are biting at around 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Skinner and D.V.L., Then I text messages to Taco, and I told him that I caught a striper. Taco told me to keep trolling to the same spot while we were conversation on the cell phone, my second one was fish on! Watafa, it was hooked off, the striper spits it out of its mouth, man. Phak! I told Taco it was hooked off and spits out the lure, and Taco said “change the color lure.” I did, but no luck. I keep trolling around near the shoreline East Dam, East Dam beach area, and East Dam Island. But I saw a lot of few swirls in the middle of East Dam, between Island and Dam. I go forward trolling in the middle, but watafa my lures were stuck in the middle, guess what there is about 6 -8 feets of Humps rock in the middle. Lucky, I saved my lures while I pulled the pole up few times, so I can go to the West Dam where Eddie Fish Taco caught a 24lb striper. I trolling back and forth when the sunshine is up on the lake, and I got fish on. I can feel it is a DD striper. But watafa, SNAPPED! I threw my phuking pole to the boat and got pissed off. LOL my pole had not damaged while I looked around on it, whew!

I again go back to East Dam to do the same thing as I do in the early morning. Nothing catches more stripers, and I called of the day at 12:00 p.m. to return a boat back to the dock.

Hope you enjoyed my pictures! 24 inches and 6lb!

By the way, I took a picture of goat (Dodo), and I said, "Dodo, you owe me $20 buck today", LOL. But a goat was ignored and walked away from me. LOL

A guy here FNN member told me that I should put thread in DVL section, sorry guys.

    But here are more pictures.

Wish you have a good luck catching striper at D.V.L.

It is hard to find a striper bass there, even I rent a basic boat without the fishfinder. Nobody catch one striper I'm not bragging it is fishing and catching, nothing exciting!
it is really challenging to find the striper

    Again good luck!

    Thanks.

The Stripers hard to locate and it is depending if it will chew, or not chewing.

The Stripers are going deep in the water, and the Stripers swim in shallow water in the East Dam/East Dam Island beach.

So, get a rent boat or standing shoreline at East Dam Island. Try out one pole for Bait-N-Wait with anchovy and one pole for casting swimbait lure. The mini stripers swim in the shallow water shoreline, or in the middle of the water between Island and Dam, there is hump rocks about 6-8 feets.

    Good luck, man!
