Default 12/1, Bait n Wait at Pyramid

I managed to get some decent bait from Dave's Fuel Dock in ventura. It was half nice bid sardines and half pinhead anchovies.

I met Dan and Jim at Gallion's Corner in Castaic. We got some great sandwiches for lunch and headed out.

The line was very short at Pyramid and we got in quickly. There was evidence of trout at the ramp but we didn't pick any up while Dan parked the truck.

After a check of some likely spots We anchored up at "the likely spot". We managed to anchor on the first try and got started.

The first bait that I put out was hit about the time the second bait hit bottom and I landed a little striper. The second bait was hit when that fish hit the net. I think that one was a catfish.

Things got really busy, especially for me. Even when we moved the boat to try and get more hits the fish were hitting my baits.

Don't get me wrong! I'm not complaining.

Everybody caught plenty of fish. With the mist and rain we weren't taking very many pictures. i managed a nicer grade striper that hit a nosed hooked anchovy that i was reeling in very fast after soaking it on bottom while i caught several fish on the other pole. I was reeling fast and it just stopped.for a second I was wondering what had gone wrong. We took some pictures of it they but they aren't in the phone now.

We were catching all small grade fish but we were all catching fish. Jim was the hot stick on the catfish but I got lucky at the end and boatted a bigger one.

We did take some pictures when we got back to the ramp.

    Here's Jim with some striper.

Dan complained that he wasn't sure that these were the striper that he caught, the ones that he caught looked just like these, I swear!

I caught at least one of those.

We separated the striper from the nasty catfish to take pictures.

Here's the prefered side of the boat.

Here's the wrong side of the boat.

If you have good bait the bite is very good at pyramid lake right now.

We had a good day. I'm glad that we had rain gear!

Thanks Bob. Those Kitties were something yesterday. There were striper there and the cats were getting the baits first.

Patience has nothing to do with the way I Bait n Wait. Impatience works much better.

Thank you. It was a good day for catfish.

I see that you and Trollmeister got a few of those channel cats. No surprise there!
