plan was 2 day trip to the delta

friday night me and andrew aka marley left for the delta plan was 2day striper fishing and try to catch our first salmon, we get to vieiras about 1:30 get the boat ready then get some sleep. we wake at 5:30 put some worm clothes on it was cold and at 6 back the boat in and tie up and wait tell gray light. from 6 to 6:30 about 30 boats launchfor 30 min all the boats were just setting right out front waiting for some light. i told andrew any min the all should start trolling but they never left. all sarted to troll troll right in that area so we pushed off and 25 feet out we no why they never left.

we troll are from 6:50 to 11 and get 2 pull downs and 1 hook up but lost it 5 min in. at 11 we decide to head out to main river and delta to troll for striper we get out there and the weeds were so thick floatind down river that u could walk across, some as big as a car so we go back to the salmon but fish and most boats were gone so we decide to pull the boat and head to new hogan for striper. we get the water in the lake about 1:40 two boats pulling out said they got nothing. we head across the lake and start to troll few min in both poles get hit turns out to be andrews first triple.
we fished tell 5:45 tottal count 32 we only kept 16




after clean fish andrew says so is that the end of our trip i say nope lets go to tracy get a room for the night then try another striper lake lake del valle. slept in and after making sure boat was dry for inspection we did not launch intell 10:30. went in the marina store asked were is a good place to start fishing the guy say what are you fishing for i said striper he said stripers had been slow. i said dont matter were would be a good place to start he said the dam. so we get to the dam drop rigs different lake same story few min later we are on. fish every few min there were about 10 boats in the area bait fishing and 10 min later they was all trolling but not catching. we fished for 5 hours and got 29 striper and 5 small mouth




as we trolled back to the marina i told andrew the next hook up is the last. so as we trolled right next to us on shore 2 bucks get locked in battle really cool to see up close. i reach for my camera to take a pic then my pole goes off dam no pic.


i want to thank bob (troutonly) for all your knowledge you gave me on our guide trip, fishing for us has been so good and its all because of what we learned, thank you bob.
