Default *Late report* first offshore trip, 7 days!!!

This report was back from sep 1st through the 8th, but i finally got all the pictures back, and i dont like posting adventures without pictures, lol.

Went on my first long range trip with my dad and some of his friends aboard the Independence in San Diego. The longest trip ive veer been on was a day and a half out to the channel islands, so this was a whole lot different than anything ive ever done, lol. Not to mention ive never caught a fish larger than 15 lbs, lol. We were supposed to head all the way down to the Alijos rocks for some wahoo action, but there had been some ongoing problem with the bait dying, so the captain didnt want to risk traveling down into the 90 degree water with our current bait situation...we spent most of our time offshore and around the Bonitas Islands. The seas were pretty rough the first few days (which made me sicker than a dog and all i wanted to do was get off the boat, lol) but they calmed down, and aside from the scorching heat and humidity you couldnt have asked for better weather, lol. I caught all sorts of fish ive never caught before....dorado, yellowfin, bluefin tuna, TONS of yellowtail, and a very large white sea bass...so overall i'd say it was an awesome experience for me. i did however end up losing an avet rod/reel combo over the side of the boat, but i really dont want to talk about that Since this trip was about a month ago now i can't really recall all the day by day details, so I'll let the pictures do most of the talking...theres so many pictures that im only going to post the ones of my dad and i, and some other ones i thought were pretty cool...

my very first catch of the trip and my first dorado...too bad it was dark so u couldnt really see its colors...

my dad caught one as well

now for a little yellowtail porn...we caught more of these than anything else, mostly on yo-yo jigs...what a PITA those are, lol

my dad and i with some of my more quality units

    super bendo!

    damn seals

my first ever WSB...and what a winner lol. only 1 of 2 caught on the trip

    biggest bonita iveer ever caught

and heres a few pics of other fish that were caught, some of the larger tuna and dorado

some nice calicos were caught as well
