Big Bear 9-2-2012
Got on the water by B's BBQ just at sunrise (about 6:30). Met FreshH20Bill who was already working the bass. Bill and I chatted for a bit comparing notes.
I picked up a couple dink LMBs then got a nicer 1.5lb. A little later picked up an even 2lb'er. Got lots of smaller bass under a pound - probably a dozen total. All caught on a watermelon senko .
Kicked around the docks for a while looks for hiding bass but only picked up a handful of crappie.
Tried drop-shotting a 4" bold-bluegill worm at various locations. Finally picked up my last bass of the morning hiding under the jetski dock. Super-light hit but fought pretty well. I had a woolly bugger our on my other line when it hit. Just as I was finishing the picture my fly rod tightened-up. I switched hands and lost whatever it was - stripped it in and found a couple big carp scales on the hook. One must have swym by and gotten snagged.
Got a number of crappie and packed it in around 10am.
Not sure about Phil's counts for the day, but I saw him land a few.
