Dry Run

Went out wed 8/29. Left Terminal Island 5 am. 1/2 scoop big sardines from SP bait. Ended up between Pt Vicente and the west end of Catalina about mid channel. We only saw 3 small kelps (empty) on the way out. 70 degree water mid channel.

Put out the chum and drifted for 2 hours. Right when the frozen chum ran out we had 8' Mako come by but wasn't interested in my Mac under a clear balloon or my buddies sardine. The wind was Santa Ana type blowing us towards SB Island all day. Trolled Mac deep diver Rapalas for a hour then found 2 nice paddies, drifted into them with Dines out but they were empty also. 3 drifts by each paddy but nobody home. The paddies had bait on them.

Hit PV on the way home for a Pinback, Batray, and a Lizard.
12 hours on the water. 18' Cuddy Cabin w/150 hp Johnson.

well, at least you got out on the water.....too bad the day was slow.

i was out there solo today too ! LB to east end cat to 277 and through the 14 mile bank! lots of life out there that didnt want to eat! saw dodos , marlin, makos. the weather was perfect!
