lots of pics and videos in those links I posted above... I bought most of my carping gear back then pretty cheaply at www.bankfishingsystems.com (you can get a whole kit with the rods/bite alarms/rod stands/etc. there). You can get a little more expensive gear at www.scorpiontackle.com

    keep up the good work!

yeah if you do order from BFS, definitely call them and speak to John Means (owner)... he always gave me a way better shipping rate than what you get charged online if you just order online. This should save you some cash!

I still use the Black Phantom carp rods from day one... and they've held up just fine.. landed the 30lb carp and 38lb buffalo with these rods!

the BFS 11' and 12' long distance carp rods are cheaper... but I haven't used those before.

Man i should have seen your reply before I bought the rod! I was strugggling for a long time because of the shipping rate, but i'll definitely call em before I purchase it again.
i got the Black Phantom as well, 2.5 lb test curve sounds good to me. I would love to get something around 1.5lb test curve but just couldn't afford it lol
The buffalo you got was a beast!

Congrats on your carp catch! Those fish are real drag burners, definitely a blast to catch. I need to start chasing them again!

I'm about 5 minutes from SFD and am an avid carp fisher... we should meet up and I can show you about the 'PUFF', as in Paylake rigging.

BTW... I have a crap load of carp gear for sale, I could easily set someone up with everything they need.
