hit Silverwood dam this morning starting at 7 AM, wanted to find some cats so i fished inflated nightcrawlers and anchovies on the bottom. got 10 hits real fast but my circle hooks werent working so i threw a crawler on a J-hook and nailed the next bite, turned out to be a micro striper. but it leads me to an interesting question. can you catch stripers regularly on the bottom? i was using a size 4 Circle hook should i go bigger? they weren't hooking up and i know you arent supposed to give them a hook set

Depends on where the stripers are, if they are on the bottom then yup and they do bite crawlers fairly well especially the garlic crawlers.
