Default raw shrimp as bait....shell or no shell

Heard shrimp works well for catfish. My local store only has raw with shell or wthout. No live. So should i get shell or no shell?

My experience has been that you need the full smell thing for the kitties. Shell on, never de-veined, and left out of the fridge for a while ... not "fresh" in other words. Leave em out in the sun for a while.

Buy the shrimp with the shell on and once you get to the lake and your about to bait your hook take the shell off. Works great for me

I keep the shell on, it protects the shrimp from pesky stunted bluegill.

I prefer small live crayfish over shrimp.

If you have to buy them their $7.00 for 12, shrimp in the Mexican markets $3.99 a pound. (50-70 shrimps per pound)
