Default SKC 2011 Champion Back to Defend His Title

SKC 2011 Champion, Gary Wiederspan of Riverside, is ready to defend his title. Gary has already purchased his SKC2 ticket from Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga. He has been doing some pre-tournament fishing at DVL and Silverwood. He's going to present the winner of the 2012 SKC2 with the trophy. As Gary put it, "I guess I'll be presenting the trophy to myself!"

Default Big Striper Caught on the Troll- August 19th

Mike Southerland landed this 16.04lb striper at DVL this past Sunday. He was trolling by the West Dam in the morning. When asked about specific location/lure, Mike responded, "I caught the fish on Mike's spot in the morning". Nothing was mentioned about the lure that Mike was using while trolling. Typically, one to two months prior to the tournament, angler's get "lock jaw" when asked about specifics. But, you can get information by reading reports and attending seminars.

Mike's sharpening his skills for the Striper King Classic 2 in September..............

Default Which Charities Are Involved with the Striper King Classic 2???

The Striper King Classic 2 is working extremely closely with Valley-Wide Recreation & Parks District and the Police Activities League (P.A.L.). Valley-Wide services several communities, including San Jacinto/Hemet. They are great organizations that gear themselves to the development of children and family values.

    Here's a little 411 on Valley-Wide Recreation & Parks District:

Here's a little 411 on the Police Activities League (P.A.L.):

You're entry fee and raffle ticket net proceeds go directly to these charities. Come support the community!
    Thanks- Barry

Default Stripers and LMB Caught on the Troll- August 23rd

This past Thursday, August 23rd, Bill Nance found the school of stripers. Bill was trolling a newly introduced swimbait in a smaller pearl color. The school of stripers were in the 5-7lb class. As far as location goes, you can tell if you check out the background shot. Bill also caught a nice 7lb LMB, sorry no pics.

Water temperature is in the 82 degree area, with a nice healthy green color. According to local guide Art Hill, water clarity is ranging between 15-20'. Bass and striper fry are everywhere in the shallow areas. Fishing pressure is very light. Great time to sharpen your striper skills on the troll or bait & wait. Good luck out there.

    Default Davis Family On Fire!

On a recent guide trip, the Davis family hit the jackpot. Doing a little trolling and baiting, the Davis' filled the livewell and another bucket full of stripers. As far as location goes, you can check out the background on their picture. Great job by the Davis family!

Default Big Striper Caught with DVL Guide

This monster striper was caught in the early morning with a little fog happening. Local guide Art Hill got his client on this nice 17.00lb striper at Diamond Valley Lake. Lure of choice that day was a Triple Trout. As far as location goes, that was not disclosed. Being one month before the Striper King Classic 2, details such as location after often times omitted. The DD's are out there, they're just waiting for you. Many of the FNNer's are frantically trying to find the stripers. One suggestion would be to hire a local guide to shorten your learning curve.
