    Default Belmont Shores/Cherry Beach/ P.B. Halibut

6am. on the sand at Alamitos Bay side, to target Halibut on the Drop

Shot with Gulp Minnows. Managed only to hook into four Lizard Fish

though, and no halibut caught in the Bay side !!! Can say though, sure is

good amount of Bait there !!!

Went to left side of Belmont pier,in front of the Pool area, by 8.30am.

still throwing the Drop Shot set up. Started to put some scent on the

Gulp Minnow this time!!! Was running low on the "Pro-cure" Calico

Gel,and saw this stuff at Sports Chalet ($5.00 and kinda thick

Consistancy) so decide mixing it with Procure !!!

Got into a wide open bite on the Halibut !!! After about five, one

after the other short Halibut, decided to try Cherry Beach because I

could have stayed there catching nothing but shorts, but really wanted

    a legal Not complaining though

This was my P.B. day for a Halibut Catching Session,

Though they were Shorts, sure was fun getting the Method down on

using that Drop Shot method, over the usual LC Method !!!

Interesting thing was, rather than use the old (for me) Drop and twitch

style, I would throw the Drop, let it hit and stay 15- seconds (dispersing

the Scent ) then twitch it a little BUT !!! SLOWLY !!! drag it !!! WOW !!!

they ALL did bite on the SLOW drag, not the twitch

Try it out this week end !!! Cuz the waters in the LBC are really getting

warmer now, and the waters are clean too !!!

Wow FS! Congrats on your slayfest! Those are some good tips also. LBC is a little out of my range but I'm sure your pointers will hold true in other locations. Thanks for the report and the eye candy!

I catch almost all of my halibut using dropshot by slowly dragging the bottom too. I twitch it every now and then but every hit I got was on the drag. Only thing is I still haven't landed a legal on a dropshot yet. Hopefully we both can land one soon

    Thanks for the report
    Good luck next time!

Great work with the drop shot. makes me wanna switch the LCs off. hahaha.
Very productive. Did you find a hole or just work the whole strech?

    Thanks,
