    Default Upper sacramento river fatties pic-dunsmuir

    The river is full of Big Fat Healthy Rainbows, and empty of fishing pressure. Average fish is between 13-15 inches with many between 15-20.

    Very nice looking trout. Were you drifting for these? A friend in Napa wants to go drift boat fishing the upper Sacramento and has been calling me, I guess it is time to go.

    Driftboat fishing is below Shasta Lake, Dunsmuir is at the beginning of the river above the lake. Much nicer.
