    Open, but unfishable due to the weed growth around the entire lake.
    Probably good for the fishes however.

    Crystal has the same infestation that Jackson Lake has. It is the same plants that are used in aquariums and was introduced by people dumping their gold fish. It takes over a lake quickly. USFS had just cleaned all of the reeds out of Jackson Lake and now the hydrilla has become a worst pest.

    I hit that lake with my fly rod last week. Like everyone wrote, very difficult to fish, especially with the fly.

    I thought the water evaporated down, but on closer inspection it's just the ring of algae. it's about 10 feet of algae before open water.

    Any luck on the fly?
