    Default Duct Taped Airplane

Best duct tape story ever. . .

During a private fly-in fishing excursion into the
Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and fishermen
left a cooler with bait in the plane. And a bear smelled it.
This is what it did to the plane...

The pilot used his radio and had another pilot
bring him two new tires, three cases of duct tape,
and a supply of sheet plastic. He then patched
the plane together, and FLEW IT HOME!

Probably just fine. The original covering is just thin fabric to begin with.

Duct tape is my friend and have used it for years. My Jeep got rear ended last week and duct tape saved my day. I was able to drive it to the body shop with out a tow. Attachment 35684Attachment 35685

You would first think that the CG would be off with the weight of the tape verse the original surface. But if when the plane is loaded with cargo it would be position in nearly the same location. So flying back without the cargo or at least not all of it could be interesting to say the least. A few test flights before taking any passengers and I can see it working.

I'll bet that pilot seat had some pretty impressive pucker marks on it by the time it landed.
