Default Kern River and Isabella Lake report, Crappie tournament info

The Kern river is fishing great right now. Stocking continues weekly. Both bait and artificials are working good. River is flowing at just under 600cfs. No problems with wading.
Isabella is fishing good with everything on the chew. Crappie are near the cages in kissack and along most shorelines. Bass are finishing their spawn and have been shallow. trout are still biting for trollers and shore fishermen. Catfish are everywhere and biting good. I was really looking forward to this but life throws curve balls all the time. An opportunity to fish the Sea of Cortez at Tortuga and San Marcos is so hard to pass up. I still have a burn to exact revenge on those yellows that were breaking us off of 50 lb braid. They will pay...again. So if those plans fall through, I'll be at Izzy.

The good news is that if I don't show up with my lucky charm Tim (10) the podium is wide open.

I wouldn't pass up that opportunity either. I know you'll be back again. Good luck in the Baja.

I'm planning to be there with our team alternate. Unfortunately MRA is taking Tim with him to Tortuga, so no lucky charm for us. On the + side is invitations for yellowtail dinners

Should be a good weekend. Temps are expected to be in the mid 80's. I hope Carl and Tim do well in the Baja.
