    Default Bishop Trip 8/17-8/18 (pics)

I havent been up in the bishop area for about a month so i figured it was about time.....
    8/17- Friday
Headed up to South Lake in the afternoon. We got there around 5 and only fished for about an hour b/c the winds were really blowing and made casting pretty difficult. i fished the cove a short walk from the upper parking lot. I was fishing w/ a red/gold Lip Ripper spoon
First cast= this fat stocker (which i kept)

All the casts after that had some smaller fish chasing them but produced nothing.

    8/18- Saturday
My brother just got a brand new 4x4 tundra so we wanted to test it out going up to coyote flats and coyote lake in the mountains just southwest of bishop. It took about an hour and a half to get up to the lake which was a total waste of time b/c even though the pple working at the National Forest place in bishop said it was fishable but it was COMPLETELY DEAD.... its hardly a lake.... look for urself

Im sure it didnt help the fact that it was extremely low due to the lack of snow in the area and plus im sure this place freezes solid in the winter.

On the way back we passed coyote creek and decided to give it a try. The cool thing about this creek is that it didnt come from any visible snow it sprung out of the ground about a half mile upstream of where we first fished it. After no luck on the upper portions we drove a little farther downstream to find this pretty little waterfall-

which produced this nice lil brookie

It was the only fish in that lttle pool so we headed downstream even more til we got to this campsite right next to the stream there we found two nice pools where me and my dad both got 5 brooks each.
they all where around this big-

And that was basically the end of the trip b/c after that we headed back home and left early the next morning. Even though it was a short and not very successful trip i still enjoyed it. I'll just keep in mind its not worth the drive up to the coyote area.
