Default Making a NEW boat owner laundry list

Lucky enough to win a boat last week down at Irvine Lake in the WON tourney. Now I need to set this bad boy up with monster hunting gear! What's the best fish finder I can get for Irvine Lake around $200 or so? I'm also looking into the best kind of anchor to put on an aluminum boat. Don't want to ding up my baby every time I move around. Do those drift bags work pretty good? Man it's awesome to have all these problems of having to set up a brand new boat! LOL

Congratulations! I don't have the answers to your questions, but once again, "congratulations!"

Congrats on your new boat! Here are some suggestions. I am sure you will get a whole lot of ideas from other anglers.

http://www.basspro.com/Attwood-Rod-H...0205379/126742 Use for longer pole grips. Works real good if you mount pole holders on a deck.

Use one on a 16ft boat works real good.

Wow thanks for taking the time to send all this stuff. That's awesome! Guess I'm gonna take a trip to Bass Pro soon. Spent 6 hours in there last time and didn't even get to the upstairs part, lol! I love that place.

It's a 14.5 footer aluminum trout boat I guess you'd call it. It has a Mercury 9.9 motor on it. Was told I wouldn't win any boat races with it, but it'd get me where I need to go, lol. Trying to upload a picture of it but all the files are too large. It's on the cover of this weeks Western Outdoor News though. That's how my partner won it. She had the winning raffle!

I am sure this goes without saying but.
    1. Insurance
when I got my first boat a 12 footer on a trailer. Someone backed right out of the Lake Tackle shop and right into my boat. Wish I would have had insurance then, but I did not.

I was just sitting here with not much to do. So I just though about posting a little stuff. Thought about walking the shoreline at Silverwood today because the weather was good. This post kept me from spending money. Thanks HA HA!!

Yep I was going to get it insured but I'm for sure going to get it now. I don't want anything to happen to my baby! LOL
