Is that why there were so many tubes out today? I didn't hit the water or fish at all today, but I dropped off my 2 boys this morning at 6 near the ramp at 11/12. A bunch of tubers getting ready to hit the water...Went back later around 9AM and counted around 10 tubes. I was curious as to what was going on, I just thought it was a meet..

    Tourney?...cool, so what happened??

(Side note- Boys did ok, caught 14 RE and 2 Trout; meal worm and inflated Night Crawler. The inflated night crawler with some garlic scent added seemed to be the ticket for them)

Yeah, there was a little gathering of some guys from a float tube fishing forum on Sunday morning for a bass "tourney". No money was involved, just lures. Suppose to be about 15 guys showing up, but only 10 made it. I couldn't make it because of a family emergency. The largest bass was a 2.6 caught by FNN's Konacrush, and I heard that some guys caught 5-6 bass where others didn't catch any. Typical LP bass fishing. They had a nice meal of on-the-spot fish tacos there at the lake in the afternoon. Sorry I missed it. Damn. If anyone wants to know more about these guys, PM me.

That was me you spoke with when you dropped off you boys. There were about 10 tubers from a float tube forum that showed up. A $5.00 lure was the entry. The winner was a 5.5 lb fish from a guy who had to leave @ 11:00. Most of the guys headed straight across and fished that point on the east side away from the Island. I headed due east and worked down there. I wish I was a better LMB fisherman as the bass boats were killing them. I did catch one LMB on a silver senko:

I headed back to where the guys were and at a bass tourny I catch this on a silver crappie jig that I troll on my UL pole.

Beautiful colors and a full tail, took about five minutes to land and release.
    Fish tacos anyone?

I went out on Friday to do some scouting and fell back onto my old ways and caught some nice red ear and a blue gill

She inhaled the larger Super Duper:

    The one BG

They must have been the ones I saw when I got back to the ramp around 1:30, Nice Red Ears they had. All fish were C&R, the stringer was in the picture because I had to get my camera and the stringer was in the pouch in the way.
