Default Sports Chalet Tournament Results andd pictures prior to Sports Chalet

Finally FNN is back up and running. A lot of fish have been caught since FNN went down about four days ago and I have been itching to get them on here for all you guys to see. But first I would like to thank all of the anglers who participated in the 10th annual Sports Chalet Tournament that took place on March 17th. We had 219 anglers show up in less than ideal conditions (rain ranging from a light mist to a downpour and some winds). On behalf of the staff of Irvine Lake and the folks of Pure Fishing and Sports Chalet we thank you for coming out and supporting this event. Also a hats off to Jeff Ingram of Pure Fishing and the folks of Sports Chalet everybody seemed to have a great time despite the weather.

Fishing was pretty good despite the weather as a lot of anglers brought fish to the scales. I was hearing a lot of diffrenet techniques where producing fish for anglers at my short time at the scales. I heard one angler was casting and retrieving a mice tail at a pretty good clip and getting fish. Trollers did very well on the Berkley Frenzy Flickershads in the 4cm and 5cm with the Firetiger pattern being the hot color.

A happy group of rain soaked anglers showing off their stringers.

No stranger to Irvine Lake tournaments Elaine Dickerhoff poses with her quality Irvine Lake Rainbow Trout. Pictured with Elaine is Jeff Ingram of Pure Fishing.

Mike "Kona" Meredith of Irvine is all smiles after he took this 4.10 Rainbow Trout while trolling a Berkley Frenzy Flickershad in the Racy Shad Color.

CJ Smith is in the St Patricks Day Spirit despite the weather.

    On to the results:

    10th Annual Sports Chalet Tournament!
    1. Brian Carter 10.10 $1533
    2.Andrew Aparacio 5.2 $745
    3.Darrel Leslie 4.14 $525
    4. Mike "Kona" Meredith $395
    5.Marice VanDerMaid 4.0 $306
    6.Elaine Dickerhoff 3.14 $263
    7.Rafeal Moreno 3.14 $219
    8.Carl 3.12 $175
    9.Matt Northrup 3.6 $131
    10.Ruben Bucura 3.6 $88
Irvine Lake and Sports Chalet would like to thank the 219 Tournament Anglers who came out and participated in the less than ideal conditions today.

Prior to the Tournament a slew of noteworthy catches where made as well:

FNN's own Steve "Hooks" Hathaway is pictured here with a 7.8 Wiper (Sunshine Bass) he caught on mackeral while in Sierra Cove. The wiper was released after the photograph.

Steve Garcia of Anaheim boated this monsterous 9.6 Largemouth Bass while Drop Shotting a Margarita Mutilater Roboworm near Crawdad Point. The big bass was released after a couple of quick photographs.

Pictured here is Phil Hildebrandt with what both he and Bob Barr (Bebob) describe as the biggest Bluegill they have ever seen in Irvine Lake. The big gill weighed in at 2lbs even and was caught by Bob Barr while fishing a nightcrawler in the Santiago Flats.

Just a reminder FNN that we have another great tournament coming up next Saturday. The Daiwa March Madness Tournament which is a MASTERS Qualifier! Also Irivine Lake will be stocking a Tagged Fish worth $1,000 cash money! The buy in for this tournament will be $20.00. Lets make this Special Tournament one for the record books. If you are looking to book a campsite or pontoon boat for this event please call us starting Monday Morning the 19th.
Also just two weeks away is the Berkley Cup which will be the FINAL QUALIFING TOURNAMENT FOR THE MASTERS. I am hoping to make this tournament the premiere tournament of the year. I am in talks with Pure Fishing right now on a couple of ideas that will make this event even more special. Not only is a Masters spot on the line but the winner of the tournament gets a huge gift bag from Berkley. Come on out and join us for this awesome event.

    Until next time

    Tight Lines FNN
    Jimmy

219 Anglers in weather like that is one hell of a turn out. Congrats to all the winners.
