By looking at the caudal fin, I am pretty sure that is a gray smoothhound shark. Not a good idea to hold it by its tail if you want to safely release it.

I'm no stranger to sharks....it swam off strong as ever...like a bullet !!!!
It's all good, after I swung it three times around in circles and launched 'em 30' into the air....everyone on the rocks scored 'em at even 10's across the board !
