    Default Ideal Setup for Squid

I'm heading out friday on a 3/4 day out of newport. Ive checked the reports and saw that squid are in town.

    Can anyone suggest setups?

I have a saragosa 8000 spooled with 65 power pro on a trevala 6'6" mh. Can I hook up a quid jig direct to the braid? or will i need a fluoro leader? what kind/weight squid jig would be good?

    suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'd go straight braid to your squid jig, no muss no fuss and the squids eyesight isn't that great.
I've caught bluefin and yellowfin tunas with straight 50 lb Red Power Pro and a 1/0 size hook with a sardine.
    GO FOR IT !
