Long story short, Henry’s fork fish were the toughest fishing we ever had for 8” trout. They were schooled all summer long as the HF was the only fishable water in the 3 state area up until recently. The largest trout of the river was Greg’s measly 14” bow. Only 1 of two caught on two separate days. The bug hatches here are so prolific, the fish don‘t have to really work to eat-VERY technical!

We stayed in a nice c/g above the Box Canyon. Greg managed a whopping 6” brooking night 1. A German guy caught a 22” bow early the next am on a self-proclaimed hideous X-mas tinsel streamer tied by his friend. We saw no other action other than the snowshoe hare, wild raspberries, osprey, and a grizz sighting ¼ mile up the dirt road one night. Our camp:
