    Default my first hali from the surf

    went camping in ventura & finally landed my first hali in the surf. been trying to do that for a long time now, but always only manage to get bsp. hopfully my next one will be legal.

    Hey Lucky Lager!

    Just recently, I caught my first short hali and have been beaching a couple of short pancakes during most secessions. So I can understand what you were going through once you realized it was a hali!
    Who cares if it was short....it was a hali! That's what fired me up to get my first legal!
    My largest was 21 1/2". I still haven't caught my first as of yet! But I keep trying.

    I want to wish you a great adventure on your stride towards your first legal. I'm also looking forward to reading about it.

    No kiddy NT.... Just look at Dan. He has always been and I am sure still does fish perch but the halibut decease is like a tropical decease, once you get in you can't get rid of it.

    well, i know nobody's gonna believe it....i didn't at first either. but i had just put the LC away & switched to the 'ol faithful....the camo sandworm.
    the wife & kids showed up to watch me, so i switched tactics to target the bsp & let the kids reel in a couple.
    it was time to pack up, and i made my last cast for the day....it was a good cast i guess.
    i feel like it was just dumb luck, but it's given me some insentive to keep at it.
    i'll let you guys know "when" i get my keeper, lol
