    Default cumara, crucial or gl2?

cumara 7'2" med xfast 1/8th-3/8ths, crucial 7'6" med xfast 1/4-5/8ths, loomis gl2 6'10" mag-med 3/16-1/2oz dropshot. Going to be using it for dropshotting for halibut and what not also maybe some grubs/flukes. Im leaning on shimano right now because i like a longer rod but never tried a loomis. Any input or other recomendations would be great to hear. Right now i do it all with my 7'3" e21 MH fast and a curado 200 but i kinda need a spinning rod for skipping under docks in the harbor and such. Reel will 90% most likely be a stradic ci4 2500.

Since you're leaning toward Shimano, out of the two I would pick the crucial since the new crucial has the same blank as the Cumara. Minus the guide, sic on cumara and alconite on crucial. It will save you some $$$. IMHO

i think alconites are better imo, lighter and just as strong as sic, the new crucials are also supposed to have the same reel seat and handles as the cumaras.

I use the old 7'2" Med Crucial spinning rod for dropshotting. I would recommend it. I use to have the Gloomis dropshot rod and I prefer the Crucial.

    FYI,
It may be drive for some but Last Chance B&T in Hemet has a few Crucials(older) left for sale @ 40 percent off the reg price, I was in there today and there were about 10 left (all casting), there were also a couple of Compres too. They are on sale until they are all gone. Best is too call Matt or Megan to see whats left.

spinning rod will most likely be on hold, might get a cumara casting rod so i can run braid like i want to, been reading that the O.G. carrot stix with the SS guides will wear a groove in them with braid :(. if i could re-wrap my e21 with fuji alconite or ti-sic or chi guides i would, because the blank on the e21 is strong and has good action. I really want a ex-fast casting stick though so the e21 might become a backup stick or a loaner because i cant use braid, braid really helps with detecting bites and bottom structure in current/surf where i like to fish. you gota know ur in the right area!!!
