Nice bass!
It's a bit more difficult to fish flies - or more accurately to detect strikes on a fly rig - at the depths bass often hold. Fishing dry flies or bass bugs is fairly popular in certain areas of the country, usually on lakes with heavy vegetation; reeds, lilly pads, etc..Originally Posted by matt duarte
Awesome job on the fly. At least I know bass will bite on a variety of things.
These bass(3) were caught in 5 feet of water but I do normally fish out deeper.
6wt. full sink line and a black crystal Woolybugger(mine).
I catch all my fish(bass, strips, trout, crappie, gills and one catfish) with the same fly with pretty much the same presentation which is trolling in the tube with some twitching of the line.
That's sweet! Nice work.
